2018 GALVESTON READS SELECTION:

News of the World by Paulette Jiles

North Texas in the 1870s is vividly realized through the travels and adventures of an itinerant "news reader" who has agreed to transprt a young girl, a former Kiowa captive, to her relatives near San Antonio.

Galveston Reads provides an opportunity for all residents high school age through senior citizens to participate in a unique community wide discussion by reading and sharing views about the same book. Read the book (all public libraries in the County will have copies for checkout) then, take a look at the Galveston Reads website at www.galvestonreads.org for information regarding discussion groups, meet the author night, a movie night, a country western/swing music & dance event, and more.

Events are free and open to the public.
